Beginnings.

The facility of the Baptist Student Ministry is being redone. Actually, it is getting torn down and rebuilt. This blog is intended to take Alumni and friends of DelawareBSM along on the journey of this new build. Over the next days there should be several new posts to get things started. After a few weeks I will level off to an update per week.

So, where were you n August of 2000? If you were anywhere near a radio you were probably listening to Higher by Creed, Everything You Want by Vertical Horizon, or It's Gonna Be Me by NSYNC. I was moving the sprouting ministry of BSM into the BSM house at 116 Amstel Ave.

Some of you move in a little later: Brandon Harvath, Aaron Cooke, Arnold (from Indonesia), and Nick (oh Nick). Humble beginnings.

In August of 2000 The Delaware Baptist Association purchased the property at 116 Amstel Ave to facilitate the effective operation of ministry to students at the University of Delaware. We occupied the facility on a Friday and two days later we hosted new freshmen which came to our University publicized open house. This is also the time a pizza box caught on fire from the gas stove top and gave us quite a scare. I don't remember any of those freshmen sticking with the groups. I do remember getting an electric stove the next week.
